Daniel Egan

CEO

Dan Egan is RVI's CEO. Previously, Dan led RVI's Commercial Equipment business for 12 years. Prior to joining RVI in 1996, he was a senior manager at Coopers & Lybrand, working primarily with financial services clients. Dan received a B.S. in Accountancy from Bentley College and is a Certified Public Account.

Wei Fan

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Wei Fan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has led Quantitative Analysis and Passenger Vehicle teams since joining in 2007, expanding business to China, Australia, and the UK. Wei also leads credit solutions and business strategy to drive RVI’s growth. Before joining the RVI Group in 2007, Wei was Director of Used Vehicle Market Solutions at J D Power & Associates, where he developed numerous used vehicle valuation products for manufacturers, financial institutions and insurance companies including the total loss valuation system used by a number of top personal-auto insurance carriers. Wei has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a M.A. in Physics from the University of Delaware, and a B.S. in Applied Physics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Wei has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2010 and has authored a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals in diversified academic fields from the Journal of Physics A to the Journal of Law and Economics.

Jim Bedard

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Jim Bedard is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer overseeing RVI’s Accounting and Finance functions. Jim has spent his career in the Connecticut Insurance Industry holding senior leadership positions at UnitedHealthcare, The Hartford, CIGNA and Travelers Insurance. Before joining RVI Jim spent 15 years at UnitedHealthcare where he was Chief Financial Officer for the Ancillary and Individual Insurance Portfolio, the Commercial Health Plans operating in the Northeast Region and their National Account Businesses. Jim is active in a number of academic and community organizations and serves on various boards including Western New England University business advisory board, Achieve Hartford Executive Board, Hear Here Hartford Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America and the American School for the Deaf board of directors. He received a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from Western New England University in Springfield, MA.

Ed Flynn

Senior Vice President, Commercial Equipment

Ed joined RVI in 2016 and is responsible for the commercial equipment team. He focuses on resolving lease accounting issues with residual value insurance as well as enhancing financing structures with balloon note guarantees relating to commercial equipment, aviation, rail, marine and renewable energy assets. Prior to joining RVI, Ed was a Director in structured finance for Bombardier Aerospace structuring, closing and managing loans, leases and securitizations for commercial aircraft. Prior to that he managed a portfolio of debt and lease structures relating to aviation and ski industry assets for Bombardier Capital. Ed has a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Marist College and a J.D. from Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro College.

Kevin Shang

Senior Vice President, Reinsurance

Mr. Shang joined RVI in 2022 to help launch and develop the company’s reinsurance operations, following his work in the Innovations Group at Group 1001. He has over 30 years of experience spanning insurance, reinsurance, and investment. Previously, Mr. Shang was a Managing Director at Peak 8 Asset Management, where he was responsible for financial analysis and quantitative modeling. Before Peak 8, he was a Vice President at PartnerRe, responsible for various reinsurance and investment transactions, including structured reinsurance, insurance-related private debt, and esoteric asset-backed investments. Before PartnerRe, Mr. Shang worked at CentreRe, a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services Group, where he focused on credit enhancement, structured reinsurance, and quantitative modeling. He started his career at AIG, working on pricing and reserving for various property-and-casualty insurance divisions. Mr. Shang earned his Bachelor’s degree from Peking University and holds Master’s degrees in Actuarial Science and Chemistry from the University of Connecticut. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a CFA® charterholder.

Jing Deng

Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer

Ms. Deng is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. She joined RVI in 2008 and has since held a variety of roles. Most recently, she served as Head of the Quantitative Department, where she was responsible for the data analytics and modeling, pricing strategy, portfolio surveillance, and the development of new products and analytical tools. She has 20+ years of experience in quantitative modeling and 15+ years of experience on P&C ratemaking, reserving and risk management. Ms. Deng was previously the Senior Statistician and Senior Consulting Advisor of Insurance Practice at J.D. Power and Associates. She holds M.A. in Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan and is an associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Darrel Seife

Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary

Darrel brings over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry to RVI Group, a leading specialty property and casualty insurer known for its longstanding expertise in helping clients manage risk through capital-efficient insurance and reinsurance solutions. RVI Group is part of Group 1001. Darrel offers deep and broad expertise across a wide spectrum of legal and compliance areas, including transactional matters, global regulatory compliance, corporate governance, market conduct, cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, litigation, product development, anti-fraud initiatives, and employment law. Before joining RVI Group, Darrel served in the Office of General Counsel at Allianz’s Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, where he oversaw litigation and bankruptcy matters. He also held the position of Major Claims Counsel at Fairfax’s The RiverStone Group, and earlier in his career, practiced at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where he litigated complex insurance coverage disputes.
